In 1991 an event that had a profound effect on our community took place. The Ontario government, in an effort to implement full funding initiatives, proposed to turn our community high school over to the Essex County Separate School Board to alleviate accommodation issues. The community of Kingsville rallied in a united front against this proposal and soon KDHS was removed from consideration for this proposal. But the community spirit this event captured made local citizens keenly aware of how much the community high school meant to them and they were determined to turn this event into something positive. It was at this time that a group of community leaders set out to assist those teachers in realizing their dream and a massive fundraising effort for Migration Hall took place.
KDHS and Migration Hall have worked, played and educated in harmony ever since. The relationship each group shares with the other is something that truly sets this school and community apart from all others, not only the Essex County area, but provincially as well.
The opportunities students have to work within such a fine venue, participate athletically in such a superb arena, and grow academically in such a first-class environment are things which every prospective student and their parents should consider when choosing a school that will best help their child succeed.
All parents wish to provide their children with the best academic qualifications possible; qualifications which will form the foundation for their children's future success in life. Kingsville High offers you the means to achieve your objective.
Many KDHS graduates go on to succeed in post secondary education, or have great success in careers that began in our Co-operative Education and OYAP (automotive) programs.
Some of KDHS school's achievements include:
Our graduates last year received $23,460 in community
• Our jazz band won a national gold medal last year.
• Our robotics team placed in the top ten 4 of the last 5 years in the Canadian Robotics Competition.
• Our sports teams have won countless championships.
KDHS targets are both high and demanding, but they are certain that they have the appropriate programmes and the qualified personnel required to guarantee the achievement of our objectives.
